Michele Pirro Replaces Simoncelli at Team Gresini – San Carlo Honda Gresini team did not want to get too lost in grief over the death of Marco Simoncelli. Gresini has now found a replacement candidate of Simoncelli.

Michele Pirro, winner of an emotional final Moto2 race of the 2011 season at Valencia, will be the rider entrusted with the new Team San Carlo Honda Gresini CRT bike, which features an FTR chassis and Honda CBR 1000R engine, next season. The Italian rider and team now take the same enthusiasm and work ethic into a new adventure in MotoGP.

Before competing in Moto2 last year, Pirro had won the European 125cc championship, two Superstock crown of Spain and Spanish Supersport championship staged performances. Look impressive on the Gresini Moriwaki, Michele Pirro closed the Moto2 perfect season by winning the top podium in Valencia.
