UFC confirms Thiago Alves vs. Martin Kampmann for March event on FX

A reported welterweight matchup between Thiago Alves and Martin Kampmann has been confirmed by the UFC for March of next year. Initial reports stated the fight would take place on March 3, and though the UFC didn't confirm the exact date, they did confirm that the fight will take place on FX.

Both fighters will enter the fight off of wins in their last bouts, each of which bounced them back from losses in their previous fights.

For Kampmann, his UFC 139 win over Rick Story bounced him back from losses to Diego Sanchez and Jake Shields; for Alves, he bounced back from a loss to Story with a first round submission of Papy Abedi at UFC 138.
